Taking music around the world

It was a busy, beautiful and exciting summer.
Lots of traveling in the “usual” summer; visiting shows, introducing new products, meeting old friends and new contacts.

Music accompanied us everywhere.
The long flights became much more fun with good music in the headphones, every new country we landed in sounded and smelled different, recognizable and special.

Traveling for work is sometimes exhausting.
The waiting, the time differences, jet lag, heat or just unexpected cold weathers make these travel days difficult at times.
Yet we also enjoy the healthy excitement, look forward to seeing friends and acquaintances, our favorite local cuisines – a feeling of coming home every time.

This summer brought us many new things.
New experiences, new atmosphere, new restaurants, new cars – life is changing at lightning speed.
New kind of music is being played, old airports have turned into ultramodern buildings. In restaurants you mostly order through a QR code and you see more and more smart and funny robots taking over the work of people.
The streets are becoming cleaner and quieter – many electric cars and buses provide better air quality.
Payments are being done contactless with phones & smart watches, passport control has also been taken over by AI machines.
Convenience serves men – and frees up time for other, more enjoyable pursuits.

Music has a clear role everywhere.
Walking, traveling, jogging or simply at work – earphones/headphones are an integral part of our lives now.
Honestly, our work actually IS all about music – listening to music, talking about it, playing or composing, and it never gets boring.
And, with pleasure, we also saw the new generation thoroughly enjoying, listening, singing and dancing – in this fast-paced, modern world, fortunately there is definitely room for music.

We saw a Colombian musical at the famous Sydney Opera House and got to attend a rehearsal with the Shanghai Philharmonic Orchestra.

In Hong Kong, Melbourne and Taipei we listened to many great new recordings, on LP, SACD and streaming – all kinds of media is back on the scene!

We had hot and cool days,10 flights in 4 weeks, worked a lot and enjoyed a lot – with music as our common thread…
Tired but satisfied we are back in the Netherlands, and couldn’t resist attending the opening concert of the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra.

Sitting in “our own” Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, we were dreaming away and thinking back to an amazing musical summer, on the beautiful tunes of Dvorak’s cello concerto…
